Yellow diamonds are both rare and expensive. To reach the final 216.89 carats required for the watch, Jacob & Co. started with 880 carats of rough diamonds.

In this new breed of billionaire, each gemstone has an assigned place. Larger diamonds are used for the case, which includes 46 for a total of 55.15 carats. The first row of the 159 ct bracelet also requires a large number of stones, whose individual size decreases in perfectly regular increments as they approach the clasp.
